Professor Dr. Ahmad Kamruzzaman Majumder
Professor Dr. Ahmad Kamruzzaman Majumder is, currently, the Dean, Faculty of Science, and he also Chairman of the Department of Environmental Science at Stamford University Bangladesh. He is the Founding Chairman of the Center for Atmospheric Pollution Studies (CAPS), an Environmental Policy research organization located in Dhaka and registered with the Government of Bangladesh. He is one of the prominent resource scholars in the field of Atmospheric Pollution Studies in Bangladesh. Now he acts as a Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA), the most prominent national civil society working on environment and contributing to environment movement. He is act as Convener of Bangladesh Nature Conservation Alliance (BNCA). Professor Majumder is a life member to Asiatic Society of Bangladesh (ASB), Bangladesh National Geographical Association (BNGA) and National Oceanographic and Maritime Institute (NOAMI). He is the editor of a number of renowned national and international journals. Professor Majumder served as an honorary advisor to “Noise Pollution Survey at Eight Divisional Cities-2017” and Team Leader of 64 District Noise Monitoring Suvey, 2022; project under the Department of Environment (DoE) of Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF). He has published 3 books, contributed to 5 book chapters and published more than 60 scientific papers in high-indexed reviewed journals. He leads several research studies on air pollution and its impact in Bangladesh, India and Nepal. Professor Dr. Majumder attended more than 100 national and international conferences on various environmental issues. He supervised more than 235 graduate and post-graduate students for their projects and theses. He visited Nepal, Bhutan, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Japan and Turkey for academic purposes. Since 2017 he is a Lead Auditor for ISO 140001:2015- Environmental Management Systems which is certified by the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA), UK. He is one of the External Member of Proposal Evaluation Committee of Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP) of PKSF.
